I am so sick of the Republican Right's holier-than-thou Fascist approach to government. It is so painfully obvious how much more intelligent they are than the sycophants they pander to because the culture of fear and slander they promote has brainwashed all of their pea-brain constituents to actually believe the s**t they serve-up. The HYPOCRISY is UN-bearable, people!!! Democrats...stop playing nicey-nice already and start exposing these liars, cheats, and philanderers for exactly what they are! How dare they stuff legislation down my throat that they themselves can't even follow! The Defense of Marriage Act??!! The public tar-and-feathering of Bill Clinton for his sexual dalliances which allowed Osama bin Laden to plot his deadly attacks? F**k you! When more than 2 of you mud-slingers can keep your own pants zipped-up for more than 10 seconds I'll allow you to speak. Statistics of marriage failure, adultery, child pornography, etc. must be happening in your beloved "red states" in order to be counted in such alarming numbers....

The traditional media may be interested almost exclusively in the sex lives of Democratic politicians, but on the hypocrisy index, it is hard to score higher than Republicans pontificating about saving the institution of marriage while so many of their leaders are serial and long-time adulterers:

1. President George H.W. Bush allegedly had an LTR with British-born Jennifer Fitzgerald that lasted at least two decades, all while married to Bar, who said, “He didn’t even notice when I stopped coloring my hair.”

2. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, famously married to Maria Shriver, is allegedly a serial groper, a purveyor of prostitutes and the father of at least one child out of wedlock.

3. Sen. John McCain, 2008 Republican presidential frontrunner, and admitted adulterer and alleged philanderer.

4. Rudolph Giuliani, former mayor of New York City and another GOP 2008 presidential contender, betrayed his second wife, TV presenter Donna Hanover, with his “very good friend” Judith Nathan, whom he has since married. Hanover also publicly accused Rudy of having an affair with a staffer, Cristyne Lategano-Nicholas.

5. Rush Limbaugh, comedian, (a.k.a. “Rusty Sharpe”) dated Marta Fitzgerald while she was married to someone else. Marta later became his third wife. (He and CNN’s Daryn Kagin recently stopped dating.)

6. Bill O’Reilly, propagandist, who is married to Maureen McPhilmy, tried to have phone sex with Andrea Mackris, who sued him for sexual harrassment.

7. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, is probably the most audacious serial adulterer in any political party.

8. Former Rep. Bob Barr’s notoriety as an adulterer was one of many ironies around the so-called Defense of Marriage Act (DoMA) which he wrote, and which was passed with the leadership of fellow adulterers Sen. Majority Leader Bob Dole and House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

9. Rep. Henry Hyde, who served as chairman of House Mangers in the adultery-related impeachment of President Clinton, was a home-wrecker himself. Hyde had an affair when he was a young and foolish man of 41 while he and his girlfriend were both very much married. Her husband later said Hyde broke up his family.

10. Gary Bauer, professional moralizing Christian nationalist, experienced a mutiny when he was running for president when actual Christians on the staff of his 2000 presidential campaign quit in protest over Bauer’s “inappropriate” behavior with a 26-year-old deputy campaign manager. The Journal of Aesthetics and Protest has a project called Fallen Fruit. Fallen Fruit maps public fruit trees, primarily in California for now.

Fruit that grows on trees in public places, and fruit that descends from boughs overhanging public places, is PUBLIC FRUIT. Anyone may pick it, or pick it up off the ground. The JAP sees this project as a way to provide simple, fresh, free nourishment to communities. I'd love to see this work.

The 9th Annual Brooklyn Int'l Film Festival continues tonite at the Brooklyn Museum! Programs begin at 6, 8, and 10pm, usually a short and a feature shown together. Some shorts are animated, and many of the features are documentary. Very chewy stuff. Check out the whole festival lineup. Ends June 11th.

The Washington Post reports: Over 5 1/2 years, Republican and Democratic lawmakers accepted nearly $50 million in trips, often to resorts and exclusive locales, from corporations and groups seeking legislative favors, according to the most comprehensive study to date on the subject of congressional travel.

From January 2000 through June 2005, House and Senate members and their aides were away from Washington for more than 81,000 days -- a combined 222 years -- on at least 23,000 trips, according to the report, issued yesterday by the nonpartisan Center for Public Integrity.

-The money is just a drop in the political glutton-bucket, some of the humongous urine-stream of squandered funds that could have been used to lift up humanity out of suffering and squalor, instead earmarked for candy for the pigs that call themselves our civil servents. It's the TIME that really bothers me. 222 years worth of wasted time, crammed into 5.5 normal human years? Eat me, you assholes.

I was riveted last night watching Dateline's expose on illegal prescription drug manufacturing. Apparently China, the land of Perfect Prada Purse, (as well as India and some other countries) is also home to knock-off Pfizer (et al) pharmaceuticals. I am truly alarmed by these 'labs" that copy brand-name drugs down the to the tamper-proof, FDA-encoded sticker at the literal expense of people's lives for big profits. The most horrifying part is that these phony pharmaceutical companies are not substituting sugar and water for the active ingredient but rather using things like the chemicals that make up drywall or the yellow dye used to make highway dividing lines...in other words: poison! While the rampant peddaling of fake Viagra does not solicit a whole lot of sympathy from me, evidence has shown that drugs like Lipitor, used by people to treat high cholesterol and Norvasc used to treat high blood-pressure are being tampered with. Most alarming of all is that Tamiflu, the drug produced by Roche Labs of Switzerland for the much talked-about Avian Flu (of which, in the 10 years since it was 1st discovered in humans, only 124 people in the world have died) is also being copied.

Makes you wonder if big-Pharma isn't actually behind this mass-murder scheme scaring millions of people around the world and forcing them to believe that the reason they are paying a bazillion times more than it actually costs for their presciptions is to guarantee their safety. Others speculate this is the newest way for Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups to infiltrate Western society. Seems like a conspiracy theory far too grandiose to actually be able to control yet nonethless I find myself at a loss for what to do and whom to trust. Any ideas??
